Hi, I'm Maca

Native Chilean Spanish Women-owned Latinx-owned Based in El Cerrito, CA

I'm a native Spanish speaker from Chile. I moved to California and eventually settled in the East Bay, where I raised three kids of my own. Along the way I discovered how much I love creating and crafting — and, more than anything, how much I love sharing my language and culture with kids.

Teaching Spanish turned out to be my real passion. I'm patient with the words that are hard to pronounce, I hold my students to real standards, and I make sure every lesson still feels like play — with songs, games, and a lot of encouragement along the way.

How I teach

Real conversation, not worksheets

A balanced approach — guided reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar — wrapped in games, songs, and activities kids actually enjoy.

Structure

A routine kids look forward to

Every lesson opens and closes with a familiar song or routine, then builds new vocabulary on top of what they already know.

Play

Games, songs, and drawing

If your kid loves to draw, sing, or play, that becomes part of the lesson. Learning sticks better when it doesn't feel like a lesson.

Patience

Real correction, real progress

I take the time to correct pronunciation and grammar without rushing — especially for kids who understand Spanish but freeze up speaking it.
